Disability-Related Accommodations

You are here

Students who require academic, housing, and/or other disability-related accommodations while studying abroad will need to request accommodations with Student Accessibility Services at Yale (SAS)

Tip: Visiting students who are participating on a Yale Summer Session Program Abroad and will need disability-related accommodations must also complete an accommodation request with SAS.

Our goal is for all students to participate fully in their program abroad. Accommodations require advanced notice to arrange and may not always be feasible to the same extent as in the United States; therefore, students who require accommodations but do not complete an accommodation request with SAS in a timely manner cannot be guaranteed accommodations. Requests are reviewed on an individual basis, and, in some instances, your ability to participate in your study abroad program may be impacted. Additionally, accommodations are not immediate and cannot be applied retroactively. You are strongly encouraged to complete an accommodation request early.

Once accommodations have been arranged, you will receive a letter from SAS. You are responsible for notifying your instructor and/or program staff of your accommodations by sharing your SAS letter with them directly.
