  • Our faculty are actively involved in academic research and many act as advisers and consultants to companies and Government bodies.
  • London is one of the most exciting and culturally-diverse cities in the world.
  • An organised social programme will give you a chance to see some of the sights of London.
  • At LSE you will be given the chance to interact with students from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures, both in and out of class.

Notes

Calendar

Students must stay for all end of course exams and earn a final grade in order to receive transfer credit.

Credit

To receive transfer credit for courses taken at LSE, you must submit a Non-Yale Summer Abroad Credit application (due March 1 for summer study abroad). LSE offers three sessions. Yale students are limited to transferring in a total of 2 outside transfer credits throughout all their summers at Yale.  This means that you can choose to apply for one transfer credit from a single 3-week session or two transfer credits from two different sessions. (LSE is the only program exception to Yale's "4 weeks in duration for credit" rule.)

Only the Economics, Finance and International Relations, Government & Society programs are eligible for general transfer credit. Accounting, Business & Management, Law, and Research Methods, Data Science, and Mathematics are not eligible without relevant DUS approval. To learn more about transfer credit, visit our "how credit works" section.

Students interested in using the courses taken at LSE for the Economics major should carefully review the information on the Yale Economics Department website.

International Summer Award (ISA) Eligibility

To use ISA funding for LSE, eligible students must enroll in two consecutive 3-week sessions (6 weeks total) and complete each course by earning a final grade. The ISA cannot be used to fund a single 3-week session or courses that are not completed for a grade.

In the LSE application when it asks for a "school code" select "self pay" or equivalent. There is no Yale school code.
