Description
Study Chile's political landscape and social justice movements while building fluency in Spanish. Based in Santiago, this program lets you build your own academic path through Spanish language coursework, area studies classes, and direct enrollment at two of Chile's leading universities, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Universidad de Chile. Coursework explores student activism, the arts as a form of resistance, human rights issues, and Chile's rich literary tradition, including world-renowned authors like Pablo Neruda and Isabel Allende. There are additional volunteer opportunities supporting indigenous communities and local labor and translation initiatives.
Two-Part Application Process
Applying to a Year or Term Abroad or a Non-Yale Summer Abroad study abroad program is a two-part process. These are separate application processes with individual deadlines and can be done simultaneously.

- You must apply to Yale Study Abroad for approval to study abroad and the ability to transfer the credit back to your Yale degree.
