Description

IES Abroad Amsterdam takes advantage of the city's unique balance of history and contemporary culture, offering you the chance to independently structure your studies at well-established academic institutions that value (and demand) creative and innovative thinking. Yale has designated the following three tracks as eligible for credit transfer:

  • Social Sciences & Humanities: This track lets you to structure your studies at the prestigious Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) and at the IES Abroad Center. With a strong focus on internationalism, the UvA offers a wide range of courses in many areas of study, including Conflict & Cultural Diversity, Globalization & International Relations, Migration Studies, and Sociology. Note: UvA has limited enrollment capacity, so we encourage you to have a back-up program. Also, deadlines for this track can be much earlier. For example, the application deadline for a Spring Term Abroad could be as early as August.
  • Psychology & Sciences: Ths track enables you to study Psychology, Health, Computer Science, or Earth and Life Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU).
  • Business & Economics: By enrolling in this program, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from a large variety of Economics courses at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). Note: Yale does not award credit for Business classes.
