The CIEE Liberal Arts program in Santiago, Dominican Republic is designed for students with an interest in Caribbean area studies. The Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) is a private, nonprofit institution of higher education that has been ranked by the Inter-American Development Bank as the best academic institution of higher learning in the Dominican Republic. PUCMM offers the academic resources, support services, and physical facilities of a superior-level Latin American educational institution.
Two-Part Application Process
Applying to a Year or Term Abroad or a Non-Yale Summer Abroad study abroad program is a two-part process. These are separate application processes with individual deadlines and can be done simultaneously.

- You must apply to Yale Study Abroad for approval to study abroad and the ability to transfer the credit back to your Yale degree. The designated list of programs on our website does not constitute pre-approval or automatic approval from Yale. You must apply to our office by the relevant deadline in order to be approved. This program is eligible for the CIEE Leading Change in Study Abroad - Latin America Student Scholarship.
CIEE offers the option to enroll in online Arizona State University (ASU) courses in many program locations. Students who are approved by Yale Study Abroad to participate in a CIEE program are not permitted to enroll in online ASU courses. Yale does not award credit or funding for online courses taken abroad.
