Description

The Korean Language Institute at Yonsei University offers classes at 6+ levels of proficiency, from beginner to high advanced, with an average enrollment of twelve to fifteen students per class. Classes meet five days a week, from Monday through Friday, for four hours each day. The program places a strong emphasis on high level reading and writing.

 

Two-Part Application Process

Applying to a Year or Term Abroad or a Non-Yale Summer Abroad study abroad program is a two-part process. These are separate application processes with individual deadlines and can be done simultaneously.

  2. You must apply to Yale Study Abroad for approval to study abroad and the ability to transfer the credit back to your Yale degree. The designated list of programs on our website does not constitute pre-approval or automatic approval from Yale. You must apply to our office by the relevant deadline in order to be approved. Credit

Yonsei is on a quarterly academic calendar, so students should apply for the fall, winter, and spring terms of the 10-week Regular Program. General Yale credit cannot be earned by taking Yonsei's fall quarter only. Similarly, general Yale credit cannot be earned by taking Yonsei's winter and spring quarters.

Evening program, advanced program, summer special program, and 3-week program are not eligible for credit.
