Academic credit can be transferred for research conducted during study abroad if:
-
The student enrolls in a credit-bearing course for independent research (e.g. SIT Independent Study Project) with a syllabus that includes clear learning objectives and assessment methods
-
The research will be overseen by a qualified faculty member from the host program
-
The research will appear on the program transcript
-
The research is evaluated with a letter grade, and the student earns the U.S. equivalent of a C- or greater
Students interested in a full-time research opportunity abroad are encouraged to meet with the Office of Fellowships as Yale Study Abroad does not oversee full-time research.
Students are not permitted to conduct research with a Yale faculty member during their study abroad program under any circumstances.
