Yale University students are automatically covered by International SOS (ISOS) for global travel assistance when more than 100 miles from New Haven, which is considered a student’s primary residence. This coverage is in effect for the duration of a student’s time at Yale; visiting students are covered by this plan only for the dates of the program. The plan also includes out-of-country medical coverage for up to $250,000, but individuals may wish to add supplementary coverage for additional medical costs at their own expense.
For more information, please visit https://ogc.yale.edu/erm/ISOS.
New Haven Housing costs will be updated by 2/1/2024
Includes breakfast and dinner on a daily basis; you would be responsible for your own lunch.
New Haven on-campus housing is OPTIONAL, and you will opt in or out of New Haven on-campus housing in your application. Please note, however, that program-arranged housing while abroad is mandatory.
On-campus room and board costs in New Haven are listed on a single line here but are separate fees on your student bill. Yale students using an International Summer Award (ISA) will be eligible for free on-campus housing and meal plan. Students visiting from other campuses are charged $2,457 to cover housing, meals, and the Yale Health Plan fee while on campus.
Tuition and other program fees, which are billed directly to your Yale student account; detailed payment instructions are available online and in your MyCIPE account.
While not directly billed by Yale, the estimated unbilled expenses are based on standard amount set each year for International Summer Award (ISA) budget purposes and should be included in your overall budget planning. Costs may vary (either higher or lower than the estimates) based on individual flights, where you purchase meals that are not included in the program, and how you choose to travel to any of the program’s structured activities that require you to make your own way.
