Study Abroad Student Outreach Coordinators

Each year, the office hires returned study abroad students to organize events and share information about Yale’s study abroad opportunities. To connect with our Student Outreach Coordinators, check out our calendar of events or send them an email.

Arianna Neal (ES '19)

Student Outreach Coordinator

Arianna is a pre-med senior studying psychology and neuroscience. On campus, she's most involved in a dance troupe called Peristalsis, neuroscience research at Yale School of Medicine, the Alliance for Black Women Scientists, and the Yale Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship. Her study abroad experiences have included a YSS global health and filmmaking course in Swaziland and South Africa in the Summer of 2016 and a comparative public health and medical anthropology program in Vietnam, South Africa, and Argentina in spring of 2017. "These two experiences are two of my most meaningful and rewarding time periods during my time here at Yale, and to be frank, my entire life. I wouldn't change a single thing -- except doing them both again, if I had time!"

Maxine Vainio (TD ‘19)

Student Outreach Coordinator

Maxine is a History and French double major. Maxine is an international student, having grown up in London her whole life. She studied abroad during her Sophomore year, spending the spring semester of 2017 down in the south of France in Aix-en-Provence, and then the summer of 2017 studying in Madrid for six weeks. In addition to gushing about the incredible opportunities that study abroad can offer, Maxine runs the Yale British Undergraduates and is part of the Yale Equestrian Team. "I believe that every Yale student should consider, if not do, study abroad, and I look forward to answering any questions, no matter how big or small, that you might have!"

Romy Vassilev (TD '19)

Student Outreach Coordinator

Romy is from New York City. She studies Art History and Spanish and has been involved with Community Health Educators, the Women's Leadership Initiative and Y Fashion House. She loved studying abroad and spent the summer of 2016 at the London School of Economics (LSE), the summer of 2017 with YSS Abroad in Croatia, and her junior fall of 2017 in Madrid, Spain through IES Abroad. "I think spending a semester abroad is truly one of the most challenging but rewarding things you can do for yourself. When I got back to Yale, I didn't feel like I had missed anything at all and instead felt much more appreciative of my time on campus after being away."
