Study Abroad Student Outreach Coordinators
Yale Study Abroad is looking for three students to serve as Study Abroad Student Outreach Coordinators. These are paid positions, and students are expected to work an average of 4-6 hours per week for the full 2026-2027 academic year. Hours per week vary depending on the number of events. In general, the beginning of the semesters (August - October, January - March) requires more hours (6 - 10 hours per week), with the second half of each semester requiring fewer hours (around 3 – 4 hours per week).
Study Abroad Student Outreach Coordinators will be required to attend two half-day training sessions prior to the start of the Fall 2026 semester. These dates have tentatively been set for August 24 and August 25, 2026.
Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver presentations to student groups which provide an overview of summer and term-time study abroad opportunities, including:

Yale Summer Session Programs Abroad

Non-Yale Summer Abroad Programs
-
Year or Term Abroad Programs
-
Plan and coordinate events to promote study abroad opportunities for Yale undergraduate students, including:

A series of Study Abroad Community Connections events with organizations across campus, such as the Cultural Centers, the Office of International Students & Scholars, Student Accessibility Services, the LGBTQ Center, and others

A series of Study Abroad Information Tables in the residential colleges and/or common areas on campus, such as Bass Library
-
Study Abroad Study Breaks organized in conjunction with First-Year Counselors to promote study abroad opportunities to first-year students

At least 2 additional events (per semester)

Connect with student organizations to help spread information about study abroad opportunities and office resources
Recruit student stories and photos for the Yale Study Abroad website and promotional materials

Connect prospective students with appropriate peers who have already participated in study abroad programs, and manage the Study Abroad Student Spotlight program by recruiting students and updating the website

Create marketing materials such as posters and informational flyers

Attend and assist with Yale Study Abroad events such as pre-departure orientations, the Summer Opportunities Fair, Bulldog Days Academic Fair, info sessions, panels, and other events, as needed

Assessment of the outreach events and make recommendations for future activities

Assist with managing the office’s social media accounts, as needed

Assist with general office work, such as updating program information in the study abroad database and other duties
Qualifications:

Applicants should be rising juniors or seniors who have had participated in a Year or Term Abroad

Experience with event planning
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to engage students and staff with enthusiasm, maturity, and discretion

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva
