Description
Study the human realities of undocumented migration, border enforcement, and the political tensions shaping movement across the Americas. Beginning in Tucson, Arizona, near a major U.S. point of entry, the program then relocates to its base in Oaxaca, Mexico, before traveling on to Puebla and Mexico City to trace the routes migrants take north. Students meet with migrant shelter staff, NGO workers supporting people in transit, Indigenous community organizers resisting displacement from extractive industries, and grassroots leaders in rural Oaxaca building local alternatives to migration.
Important Note:
Yale students on this program must select the Independent Study Project (ISP). The internship option is not eligible for academic credit at Yale.
Two-Part Application Process
