Two-Part Application Process
Applying to a Year or Term Abroad or a Non-Yale Summer Abroad study abroad program is a two-part process. These are separate application processes with individual deadlines and can be done simultaneously.
- You must apply to your intended program for admission by applying online from the program’s website. Select the Program Website button below to be directed to more information.
- You must apply to Yale Study Abroad for approval to study abroad and the ability to transfer the credit back to your Yale degree. The designated list of programs on our website does not constitute pre-approval or automatic approval from Yale. You must apply to our office by the relevant deadline in order to be approved. Select the Apply to Yale Study Abroad button below to be directed to more information.
CIEE’s partner institution, University of Amsterdam (UvA) has limited enrollment capacity, so we encourage you to apply early and have a back-up program.
Spring 2025 Application Deadline: CIEE has been allocated a set number of spaces for students at UvA. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be sure to submit all of your application materials to CIEE by August 28, 2024, for priority consideration. Applications received after that deadline may be considered if there is still availability. Students can reach out to CIEE Admissions at inquire@ciee.org with any CIEE program or application-related questions.
CIEE offers the option to enroll in online Arizona State University (ASU) courses in many program locations. Students who are approved by Yale Study Abroad to participate in a CIEE program are not permitted to enroll in online ASU courses. Yale does not award credit or funding for online courses taken abroad.
