Description

The Pembroke Cambridge Summer Programme offers you the unique opportunity to enjoy outstanding small-group teaching in a beautiful and inspiring academic setting.

We offer exciting courses in a variety of disciplines and you'll study 3 courses over the summer, exploring your subject through lively debate. If you’re planning research or graduate studies, why not opt for an independent supervision project to work 1-to-1 with an expert in the field?

There’s much more to this summer experience than challenging yourself academically and we do all we can to help you make the most of your time in our beautiful city and the UK.

Students must register for 2 courses that are 6 weeks in length (from module 3) to be eligible to transfer the credit back to Yale and use Yale funding (if applicable). Students can only take a 3 week course for the third course they are not receiving transfer credit for. Your credit application for Yale Study Abroad should only list the two 6 week courses from module 3. Please do not list your third course that you do not intend to receive credit for.

Two-Part Application Process

Applying to a Year or Term Abroad or a Non-Yale Summer Abroad study abroad program is a two-part process. These are separate application processes with individual deadlines and can be done simultaneously.

  1. You must apply to your intended program for admission by applying online from the program’s website. Select the Program Website button below to be directed to more information.
  2. You must apply to Yale Study Abroad for approval to study abroad and the ability to transfer the credit back to your Yale degree. The designated list of programs on our website does not constitute pre-approval or automatic approval from Yale. You must apply to our office by the relevant deadline in order to be approved. Select the Apply to Yale Study Abroad button below to be directed to more information.

Notes

Credit

Please remember that, per Yale's credit transfer policy, students can only earn a maximum of two transfer credits for summer study abroad and the courses must be 4 weeks in length or longer.  This means that, even though you will be taking 3 courses at  Pembroke, our office can only transfer credit for two of them.  Two courses must meet for 6 weeks, and your third course (that you are not receiving credit for) can be a 3 or 6 week course. This is a great opportunity to pick any discipline you'd like for your third course! In your credit application to Yale Study Abroad, only list the two 6 weeks courses you would like transfer credit for.

Early Application Recommended

Admission is rolling and the program normally fills well before the stated deadline; early application is strongly recommended.
